Solar City
Innovative platform for broader solar investments

Project summary
Common Assets, a pioneering financial services startup, aimed to democratize renewable energy investments in 2015. Their mission was to open up investment opportunities in solar energy to a broader range of private investors through an innovative online platform. To achieve this, they required a robust and user-friendly interface capable of streamlining the investment process. Common Assets turned to Kellton Europe (formerly Tivix) to bring their innovative concept to fruition.

Smart integration
Launch of a game-changing platform for solar bonds
Our team developed the front-end interface that enables private investors to seamlessly purchase bonds to fund renewable energy projects, directly supporting the transition to a more sustainable future.
The successful launch of the Common Assets platform contributed significantly to its acquisition by SolarCity, a leader in renewable energy. Once integrated into SolarCity, the platform was rebranded as Solar Bonds, continuing to revolutionize the financing of renewable energy projects. With 3 billion in contract payments secured for the next 20 years, the platform has become a cornerstone in SolarCity’s financial strategy.
I’ve found their unique combination of hard-core engineering skills and solid business acumen to be a phenomenal asset.
